Look behind you.
US-Canada heatwave: Visual guide to the causes - BBC News

A clip from the article

Experts say climate change is expected to increase the frequency of such extreme weather events, such as heatwaves. However, linking any single event to global warming is complicated.

I see that this has caused some to make this political, no the right does not deny climate change as some put it. Some conservatives think that this will happen whether we spend trillions on climate change or not, some think that Canada is neither the cause or solution to climate change, what we do will not alter climate change but only make people have less disposable income.

Video on social media showed a torrent of black mud plummeting down from a mountain top and on through the city towards the sea.
Several houses were destroyed or buried.
Kyodo news agency reports that the bodies of what appear to be two victims have been found in the port district.
A witness described a "horrible sound" before he fled to higher ground.

Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has put together a task force to respond to the disaster and the wider emergency caused by heavy rainfall on the Pacific coastline.

Atami, a popular hot-spring resort in the prefecture of Shizuoka, has had more rainfall in the first three days of July than it usually sees in the whole month. The weather has been similar in neighbouring Kanagawa prefecture.

Japan is a very mountainous and densely populated country and landslides are not unusual, says the BBC's Rupert Wingfield-Hayes, in Tokyo.

But there is growing evidence that climate change is making these sorts of extreme weather events more frequent and more destructive, our correspondent adds.

Of the 166 heat-related deaths, 75 occurred outside Montreal. Three-quarters (125) of the deaths occurred in the summer of 2018, including 117 related to the July heat wave. On July 4 and 5, 2018 alone, 44 people died. The 2019 and 2020 heat waves meanwhile killed 17 and 21 people, respectively.

And there are more and more heatwaves, imagine if the temperature increases by a few degrees, how many deaths would we have?

No, tere is no climate change.

Talk to the people of Litton, it was 49.5 degrees. I know it was in British Columbia, it's an example.

Record Brazilian drought causes coffee prices to spike to highest level in years.

Brazil produces one-third of the world's coffee — and this year's crop has been damaged by dry weather.

A once-in-a-century drought in Brazil has walloped the world's largest coffee crop, pushing up wholesale prices to their highest level in years.

The going rate for prized arabica beans was almost $1.70 US a pound at one point this week. That's almost 60 per cent higher than it was last summer.

Abnormally dry conditions late in the growing season in Brazil are the main culprit, as Brazil typically produces about one-third of the world's supply of coffee beans.

In 127 years of record-keeping, the United States was never this hot in June.
Blistering and record-setting heat waves on both the West Coast and the East Coast made last month the hottest June in U.S. history, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

This latest heat wave comes on the heels of the hottest June on record for the United States.

A new study published Wednesday shows the Pacific Northwest heat wave from June 27 to June 29 was made at least 150 times more likely by human-caused climate change and, even in today's heated climate, is a rare 1-in-1,000-year event.

The study, by a collaboration of 27 climate scientists, warned that if we keep warming the climate, extreme heat waves like that will happen once every 5 to 10 years by mid-century.

On Friday, Death Valley National Park in California recorded a staggering high of 130 degrees Fahrenheit (54 Celsius) and could reach the same high on Saturday.

If we don't act, the climate will destroy the planet.

How Warming Winters Are Affecting Everything

More words without verification. Numbers never lie.

You take these climate changes as not significant, but it's the exact opposite. Since these changes take decades, it doesn't seem to matter. Without a controlled climate the earth is heading for disaster.

You are like people who don't care and you say to yourself, I'm going to be dead for a long time.

getting sick of this ! who created all this mess huh ? tell that to the politicians, and they said it's your car which polluted the atmosphere !
Yeah rigjht ! they don't talk about all the war they are fighting for nothing ! Look at Iraq and Afghanistan ? after 20 years the U.S. are defeated and withdraw it's last troop this week.
Do you know how much Co2 a tank emits ? a fighter jets emits ? when a bomb explodes ? how many jets take off each day from an aircraft carrier? how many battle ships and aircraft carriers are in this world ?
Shutttt ! it's a secret. TV, radio, social media don't talk about it, so we should keep it quiet alright ? So don't talk about climate change to me ok ?
Yes, all this wild fires, floods, dryness is caused buy my car,? so mind as well burn it down ok ?

I could not, not comment after having read this text so irrational.

The more you say to stop talking about it, the more I'm going to talk about it.

I agree with you that these climate changes are due to industrialization.

You surely have no children or small children because they are aware of these phenomena.

If you're tired of hearing about it, change planet.

If we do nothing, hundreds of years from now, life on earth will no longer be viable.

Climate change affects global temperature and precipitation patterns.
These effects, in turn, influence the intensity and, in some cases, the frequency of extreme environmental events, such as forest fires, hurricanes, heat waves, floods, droughts, and storms.

What are the long-term effects of climate change?

Scientists have predicted that long-term effects of climate change will include a decrease in sea ice and an increase in permafrost thawing, an increase in heat waves and heavy precipitation, and decreased water resources in semi-arid regions.
Below are some of the regional impacts of global change forecast by the Intergovernmental Panel on.

Climatoseptic:
Climate change denial, or global warming denial, is denial, dismissal, or unwarranted doubt that contradicts the scientific consensus on climate change, including the extent to which it is caused by humans, its effects on nature and human society, or the potential of adaptation to global warming by human actions.

Many who deny, dismiss, or hold unwarranted doubt about the scientific consensus on anthropogenic global warming self-label as "climate change skeptics", which several scientists have noted is an inaccurate description.
Climate change denial can also be implicit when individuals or social groups accept the science but fail to come to terms with it or to translate their acceptance into action.

More than 60 people have died and dozens were missing Thursday as severe flooding in Germany and Belgium turned streams and streets into raging torrents that swept away cars and caused houses to collapse.

Among those killed were nine residents of an assisted living facility for people with disabilities and two firefighters involved in rescue efforts across the region.

“I grieve for those who have lost their lives in this disaster,” German Chancellor Angela Merkel said during a visit to Washington, expressing shock at the scope of the flooding.

Germany, July 18 (Reuters) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel described the flooding that has devastated parts of Europe as "terrifying" on Sunday after the death toll across the region rose to 188 and a district of Bavaria was battered by the extreme weather.

Merkel promised swift financial aid after visiting one of the areas worst affected by the record rainfall and floods that have killed at least 157 in Germany alone in recent days, in the country's worst natural disaster in almost six decades.

She also said governments would have to get better and faster in their efforts to tackle the impact of climate change only days after Europe outlined a package of steps towards "net zero" emissions by the middle of the century.
