Question for all the established gentlemen out there. How did you make it in life?

As a relatively young educated person with a few years in the workforce, it feels as if most if not all of my earnings are going towards debt, bills and transportation.

I understand the whole “live below your means” bit & I am paying for my sins for not doing so through debt but, does it ever get better? If so, at what age does one feel “established” enough to afford a 2 hour donguan service from rockstar or limerence (lol) without batting an eye. 35, 40, 45, 50+?

Is there any hope of financial freedom through a non fin/tech 9-5? It just feels so pointless at times.

Well the first good thing is that you are young so time is on your side. But if you want things to change you need to start changing things.
I don’t know the field you are in but you need to seize opportunities or create them. That is what I did all my life and with time it really started to payoff. Maybe I got lucky, maybe I was privileged but I surely pushed hard. Always be the BEST at what you do. You are not? follow courses or get more training so you become the best. Then you go on the market and get more money. And you keep on doing that. You are your own potential. Make a name for yourself. But you MUST love what you do. You don’t? Change. That is where it starts. Reward yourself when you sign a deal or do something good. In the old days, I used to buy me a suit or a watch every time I signed a deal or got a new job that would pay more. I don’t do that anymore, I just sin more. Hahaha.
Good luck out there Skywasp.

Pro tip: if you focus only on money, expensive things, and "a 2 hour donguan service from rockstar or limerence", life will always feel "pointless". True happiness is not to be found through material possessions or instantaneous pleasures. Living below your means is indeed sound advice.

There are plenty of people who seem to have "made it" in life who feel empty inside.

I would recommend you to focus on freinds, family, faith, your community, instead.

You can make it big in literally anything as long as you're extremely good at doing it.

If you're one of the best at doing something, there will always be people willing to pay you lots of money to do it.

But in order to become exceptionally good at doing something, or even one of the best, it is absolutely critical that you do something you love. If you don't, it's just not going to happen.

I don't agree with this. I'm someone who comes from nothing and I was forced to learn quickly that the path to success is rarely straight forward. Goals and dreams like this kept me going through tough times and setbacks when it would have been easy to just give up and settle for mediocrity.

I studied STEM, had a company sold it. Work for a company I am in the top 0.5% in terms of salary. Working like a maniac on a new project.

It's a lot of hard work and luck. People who say it's all about work and if you don't make it it's because you didn't work hard enough are full of it. Luck has a lot to do with success.
However, you need to be ready when an opportunity comes your way.

This week I was super stressed I saw 8 girls, so I go out bang bang wam and come back to work. Not ideal, but that's my life.

It's an expensive way to cope with stress.

Read some financial literacy so you can make the most of the principle "make your money work for you"
