Bombardier was given a billion dollars of tax payers money. - GM, too was given tax payer money.

I guarantee no one will do anything about it. Not even the people who pay the taxes. But, we'll all sit around talking about 'free speech' truly believing we're free and democratic. LOL!

I'm sure if you only vote this time things will get better! HAHAHAHAHAA

WTF! I worked on a case where Americans train riders were surveyed and they loved and preferred trains and carriages made by Bombardier. Okay, why not make these trains for Via Rail Canada in Canada! California already has a very robust economy fueled by tech giants and biotechnology companies. Are there more skilled train builders in California than in Quebec? Does California have more efficient train building factories than Quebec? This makes no sense, unless Canada is positioning itself to bid for a high-speed train system between the SF Bay Area and LA, which will likely never happen! Many politicians must have been paid off.

CBC might not be all that independent but it should investigate this apparent non-sense that smells like rotted fishes. Or is this part of Trump's NAFTA 2.0 or USMCA?

There's got to be a way for Canadian workers to obtain a piece of the Via Rail Canada 1 billion contract -- Bombardier could retain some, most or all of the recently laid off Quebec workers to build trains. So, Justin Trudeau and Francois Legault will do nothing but shrug their shoulders in this regard!

The alternative could be far worse. I keep hearing that there is a labor shortage in Quebec, especially in Montreal. What gives?

SAQ's employees may finally have a "labor contract" that would bring them back to work. The Canadian postal workers are . . .

Jalimon, I don't think Canadians, particularly Quebecers, shoot themselves in the foot, like those in France.

Maybe Airbus could start building planes in Quebec given that Quebec seems far more stable than France, especially given the current out-of-control "Yellow Vests" protects in Paris. We might see a significant increase in migration of French citizens into Quebec, if the grievances that have fueled the "legitimate" Yellow Vests protectors go unabated, no? The monthly median disposable income for a worker in France is supposedly about C$2,500 -- if so, I wonder how that compares to Quebec.

New York Times (Dec 1, 2018)

"PARIS — A third week of protests against the government of President Emmanuel Macron intensified in violence on Saturday, as demonstrators in Paris burned cars, smashed windows and confronted riot police who responded by firing tear gas in the most serious crisis of the French leader’s administration.

The protests — diffuse, seemingly leaderless and organized over the internet as a spontaneous outcry over high taxes and declining living standards — took a potentially more sinister turn as they were joined by extremists on the left and right, anarchists and organized labor, all seeking to capitalize on the simmering discontent."
