Best and Worst Cancellation Policy

Just wondering what is the best and worst cancellation policy that us, Merbites (Terbites sound better but Montreal rules ) have experienced?

Heard that it ranges from CAD 50-250 for last minute cancellations.

Also, do you think an escort should compensate you if she does a last minute cancellation (< 12 hours)?

I once had an independent cancel on me five hours b/f our meeting, just one phone call and not even an apology email, really disappointing since I felt we really connected over our email exchanges

Good thing Asservissante came to the rescue. That's why I never schedule an appointment with an independent on a Monday.

I think only AllissaMontreal and Racquelle have a written cancellation policy which is unfortunate as I think its best to be clear and upfront about all money matters to avoid any unpleasant or awkward situations later. While I have never met Racquelle, I find her cancellation policy to be most fair.

As for collecting, it can be difficult if the client cancels before the appointment since there isn't much an escort can do if the client refuses to pay. But I like to believe that there are enough decent people among us that such a situation rarely arises. On the one occasion that I was forced to do a cancellation several hours before an appointment due to unforeseen circumstances, I arranged to meet the escort at an earlier time to give her the cancellation fee. I was shocked when that fee amounted to the first hour's rate, while it was partly my fault for not having checked what her cancellation policy was in the first place, I do think that was somewhat excessive. A fellow hobbyist was telling me the other day that I should have just given her CAD 100 and told her to take it or leave it. Oh well, at least my conscience is clear.

On BTW, I'm also interested in knowing how much you guys have paid on the occasions when you declined a high-end independent or agency escort upon meeting her. Please don't mention the names of the SPs in this thread, just want to see if there's a consensus on cancellation policies.

I'm not really sure how its ironic; a written cancellation policy merely makes the the entire process more transparent, unless one views the presence of a written cancellation policy as an indication that the agency or independent is less likely to do last minute cancellations or no-shows(which is a fairly legitimate view) and it turns out that the agency or independent consistently does the opposite.

Train & Robin: do you think that AllissaMontreal or Racquelle displayed a lack of professionalism and were there any attempts later by AllissaMontreal or Racquelle to compensate you for the inconvenience?

To me, it seems only fair that us, hobbyists should get some compensation for last minute cancellations or no-shows; I, for one, travel to Montreal mainly for meeting SPs, if an SP was to do a last minute cancellation or a no-show and I was unable to find a suitable replacement (can be really difficult for late night meetings), I would basically have lost the money for a one night hotel stay and the food & beverages that I had arranged for the SP through room service, not to mention the waste of my time.

I have only had my cancellation policy up on my site since the last time I've added things to my section, about a month or so. Before that my cancellation policy was to offer my regular's rates to new clients and offer a special rate if it was with a regular. I've honored it every single time an individual made an attempt to reschedule an appointment, some unfortunately don't try a second attempt. That's part of the business and the consequences of canceling appointments on my part.

Now, I do my best to be on time and in top shape for each and everyone of my appointments but sometimes things happen and I really can't make it. You have to understand how bad I feel at these times, I know how much preparation goes into scheduling a rendez-vous and making a trip and I can only imagine the frustration of having those plans fall through. That's why I always call or leave a message as soon as I can to let the person know. There have been a very limited amount of cases where I was not able to call and they were due to serious reasons. In all, I try my very best to be as professional, timely and responsible with my scheduling and encounters. But I am human and do mistakes...

Robin: I do remember having an encounter scheduled together a while back and me not being able to attend. Did I not get into contact with you? From my memory I did, but memories can be wrong. If I did not call you or write you to apologize, I do so now. I truly am sorry for not being able to attend our encounter and should you so be inclined to give me another chance, you would of course benefit of my cancellation policy.

As for other sites with written cancellation fees, I know of no other than my own that has one. I did check out Allissa's site and there is no mention of a cancellation fee should one of the angels not attend a rendez-vous. I know the site is being changed and updated, maybe it will come back?

I had seen it the first and only time on an independent escort's website who's based in Ontario. I thought it was a great idea and a way to show clientèle that I do take responsibility for my mishaps.

Last summer I had to cancel what would have been my first duo because of a severe case of food poisoning. I was able to give the ladies about 9 or 10 hours notice. It never occurred to me to pay a cancellation fee. Evidently the ladies weren't expecting one either as they expressed sympathy and said I was welcome to book with them again.

Allissa's site used to have a section that asked for at least CAD50, should there be any last minute cancellations on the part of the clients but you're right that it doesn't mention any compensation should one of the angels cancel, somewhat one-sided IMO. Which is why I find your cancellation policy to be most fair. In fact, I'm a little surprised that so far you seem to be the only one in Montreal to have such a comprehensive cancellation policy; its a great way for independents, especially for the newcomers to signal that they are serious about keeping appointments.

I, too came down with something similar on my last trip to Montreal but I ended up having to pay for the first hour's rate, talk about bad luck. LOL, maybe someone should start a thread on where Not to eat while at Montreal.

Racquelle, your no-show in my case was obviously an exceptionally serious circumstance. At that time I wrote you off as another immature airhead in the business, but your response shows you are anything but that. I can see that you are conscientious about making your appointments a success and your feelings for disappointed clients are genuine.
