I was doing a little internet research for a way to keep my most personal dealings...well, personal. I found the link to a service that seemed unique and intriguing.

The whole concept seems illogical to me.

Obviously, you must give them your real name (when your wife/friends/boss calls, they are asking for you by name). So now you have this trail of evidence of your activities: SP agency, alibi agency, credit card company with a charge for the alibi agency, alibi agency guy who answers the phone, ...

I definitely share your cynicism....thus the reason for my question. Here is an alleged company, whom you pay to lie. They have all of your information and nothing to do but gain from it....asking you to trust them...

But I also see a valid need and a tremendous business opportunity.

You give me the reasons why and pay me to get an alibi...
and then my associate blackmail you.

The million dollar question is...how do you know you can trust the alibi service?
Thus my search for info and references.

Don't worry ! they know the law by heart.
Like in the case of many security agencies, they have people who worked both side of the fence.

If you deal with them; they'll know right away if they can work underground with you or go legit; which in turn should mean 100% non-liability.
Usually your file will be sent abroad (in a safe place) so that you can't blackmail them in return.

The commercial part of their business should be basically a front.
The vast majority of their cash business is done 'underground' with bigger fish.

My guess is : you can deal with them for small stuff (your personal life) unless you are well known and part of a (huge-underground or gov.) organization.
If you deal 'underground', nothing can be used in court and they will not be any 'paperwork'.
Cash-only is what they usually take in that situation.

If I were you (if you want to use this kind of service), I would use the third party rule.
