McKinnon had 1 point last night and Kucherov point lead remains 3: 141 to 138 over McKinnon. Kucherov has 2 games left and McKinnon only 1, so it looks like Kucherov has all but clinched the Art Ross Trophy for most points. This is something he really wanted, after the past few seasons. It will be his second Art Ross Trophy.

That's it, with a goal tonight Adam Fox has officially clinched a point per game for the first time in his career. 72 games, 72 points with his goal tonight. Fox ranks #9 on the all time list of points per game defenseman, with Bobby Orr #1 and the only defenseman, along with Paul Coffey and Cale Makar in NHL history to average over a point per game:

McDavid is the 4th player in NHL history to have 100 assists in a season. The other 3 are Orr, Gretzky and Lemieux:

If you are wondering who the #1 seed NY Rangers opponent will be in the playoffs, so is the rest of hockey, so here are the scenarios:

If Washington beats Philadelphia tonight in REGULATION (which is a win or go home game for both teams), then the Rangers will play the Capitols and Ovechkin. And unlike past years when the Rangers had nobody to retaliate when Tom Wilson harassed the Rangers players, they can now send Matt Rempe out after him.

If Washington loses, and Detroit wins against the Habs, the Rangers will play the Red Wings

If both Washington and Detroit lose, it comes down to Philadelphia and Pittsburgh tomorrow night. If Pittsburgh wins they are in, if they lose, Philadelphia is in.

Pretty simple. Now if you were also wondering who would the Canadiens be helping if they beat Detroit, the answer is possibly the Capitals, the Flyers, or the Penguins. So as a Habs fan you have to decide would you rather help Detroit, or one of the other 3.

Last chance tonight for MATTHEWS to reach his 70th goal...won't b easy vs TAMPA.....BUT he will do it....will watch.....
Denied by the Lightning and backup goalie Matt Tompkins, who otherwise played like a backup goalie. Meanwhile, Kucherov has finished his season with 144 points, and McKinnon needs a 6 point game tonight to tie Kucherov for the points championship and the Art Ross Trophy. It's doable- but not likely.

I'm picking a first round exit for the Leafs, also think the Oilers are happy to be playing LA instead of Vegas. Winnipeg will be very hard to beat.
I think the Leafs go out in Round 2, but I could see a first round exit as their defense, as in the past, is suspect.

On the other hand I think the Rangers will defeat Washington, and advance to the conference finals where they will play the Florida Panthers. One of these teams will advance to finals.

In the west I like Winnipeg and Colorado, or one of them to advance to the finals.
