Sure. When people got to put food on the plate and have a roof over your head it is no longer a free market. The so called free market is an illusion. Heard of Fascism? Feudalism? One last thing when corporations influence governments it is no longer a free market.

Free Markets are an illusion you say. Maybe you don't know the meaning of a free market. A free market simply means anyone can set of shop and offer their wares and services. In some countries the government owns the market and its not possible to set up and independent affair. You speak of fascism, feudalism, corporations running the government? You are definitely one with strong opinions. My question to you is, What are you doing about it? Do you have an action plan ? Clearly these are things unsettling to you.

Trudeau will never do that because it would be political suicide. He would loose the feminist and social conservative vote. North American society is not yet ready for legalized prostitution.
CLOUD,I was being sarcastic, of course he won’t touch prostitution laws he hasn’t the guts, and yes it is political suicide.

You know what... It got me thinking and I'm not so sure about that. I never thought a major party would one day promise to legalize marijuana once and for all, and they campaigned on it in 2015 and they did it.
As for losing the "feminist and social conservative vote": i don't think there is much social conservative vote left to lose for the Liberal Party - it's pretty much solidly in the Conservative camp. As for feminists, a great deal of them strongly support legalizing prostitution, as a mean of normalizing sex work and improving sex workers' safety and health. Besides, Trudeau's blackface didn't lose them votes, the Libs buying a pipeline didn't benefit the Greens or NDP, maybe they should just be bold and risk it.

The Young Liberals of Canada actually proposed legalizing prostitution in 2018, but the national party chose not to put it in their 2019 platform. I still think they should have. But of course, as a user of this forum, I'm biased.

Yeah, it was a sad day for Canada. Western Canada is fed up and separation talk is everywhere out here. How fucking stupid is Ontario and east about politics and economics, increased debt and businesses leaving mean nothing. I am about to retire once this project is done so not a biggie to me, both my kids will do well but worried about the increased homelessness in Canada, the people squeaking by paycheck to paycheck.
I know many people in the oil patch, the people in Ontario east will have a tough time getting a job in Alberta, layoff in the future will be people from Ontario east, businesses selling products from the east will see a decline in sales. Hire local and buy from the US is what will start out west

Well...Canadians are officially the biggest bunch of fucktarded morons on the planet.

Turdeau again?! You've gotta be shitting me...way to go idiots.

Our country is well and truly fucked...and not good fucked...bad fucked.

Agree that it's pretty bad but disagree about "the biggest bunch" part. Reason? Take a look at our neighbor.

Here's some interesting info for you...just to show how bad things are:

In 1993 close protection of the Prime Minister changed over from the RCMP to a newly developed military unit. I served on PM Harper's detail in 2010-11.

As of 28 October 2019 every member of the PM's military protection detail has refused to protect Turdeau. They also have the full support of the commanding officers and the duties have now been transferred back to the RCMP...because of Turdeau's lack of assistance to Veterans.

Remember...the oath we swear is to the Queen...NOT to the PM.

Full shit-house...that's where we're at.

Citation needed

Wasn't this one of the right wing conspiracy memes about Obama?

Can you provide any evidence of this? Not even of the idea that the military won't protect him. Just provide me that the RCMP stopped protecting the PM in 1993 and then switched out in late 2019 back to RCMP. That should be easy. I mean, it is the kind of thing that would be a big deal and all over the news. (Regardless of whether they admitted it was because the military refused to protect him.)

^^^^^^ Try to keep up, the majority voted for him. You do not follow politics very much do you, or your comprehension is very low.

Google says the RCMP Prime Minister Protective Detail has been in charge of protecting the Prime Minister since 1995. It says nothing about 1993 or the military or it switching back.

That's why I am asking you.

This is the problem of how we elect our officials. Totally skewed in favor of Ontario and Quebec. Most Canadians want the CPC and scheer to lead this country. One vote from alberta has less weight than one vote from Quebec. Totally unconstitutional. Hopefully Alberta will start the same process as was done by Quebec in asking for more autonomy, more transfers of powers from Ottawa, and happy to hear that is exactly what they are doing. Alberta needs to give Ottawa a good kick in the Nuts.

^^^^^^ OK, so correct term is the Conservatives got the most votes, with 5 parties a majority never happens here so no matter what a majority does not happen.

Ok, maybe needed to put up a pie chart with pictures.

Of 5 major parties, the CPC got the most votes.

and to continue your post.

65% of Canadians did not vote Liberal, yet these assholes (LPC) are now running the country.

These assholes are running the country simply because it is according to the rules set by assholes, and enough of these assholes voted liberal to make it happen.
Then we get to the biggest and worst assholes, the ones that didn’t bother to vote at all and then bitch like assholes forever about who is running the country.

^^^ If you draw a straight line about across the US / Canada border ( highest part, over half the Canadian population lives south of that line. They chose our politicians and how Canada is run.

You are correct it is basically always Ontario combined with Quebec that gets to decide who runs the country.
Really must suck for the rest of the country as they have no say and a lot of times no representation after.
At the same time I hate all politicians and consider them all scum so I rarely get involved in political discussions.
I always vote but usually hold my nose while doing it.

STN - The word you are looking for is "plurality" not "majority".

And yes, the fact a weak plurality could result in the Cons getting shut out and the Libs having a majority is a major problem. It would be nice if this made the Conservative party push for voting system reform to get rid of First Past the Post, but I am not holding my breath.
