Were you there? Did you see good shows?

I had a blast. Among the two or three best years in more than 35. The Zakir Hussein, Dave Holland and Chris Potter concert was orgasmic. Brian Blade had an amazing line-up. So did Mike Stern. Bonobo was a discovery for me: good compositions, fabulous light set, a music that transmits directly to your body. Olafur Arnalds was also quite something.

I was there for the closing weekend this year (I usually come for the opening weekend). I had a good time and I will be coming next year. I always enjoy the 'Little School of Jazz' stage show, it's fun to see the little kids get so worked up and dancing in the aisles etc. and even rushing the stage...

As it turned out, the Montreal ComicCon was going on the same weekend, and I enjoyed checking that event out also.

I was there for the closing night also, WOD put on a incredible live show. I knew they were good and have a different sound, but watching them live was absolutely unreal. Didn’t think they would sound that good.
