Hi hopefully this first timer question does not sound silly to you
I’m aware it is illegal to use the sexual service. And I don’t think the police cares too much about this. But is there any cases in montreal police starts to take measures to crack down on client？Do agencies have an “agreement” with the cops? to make sure their clients are safe

But all that doesn't happen often, quite the opposite, but it's possible.

It's usually pimps and employers who are targeted, not clients. And even then.. it doesn't seem like the police cares too much.

I've heard of stings too, but one person told me a story that stuck with me to this day : he said his client was "caught" by an undercover cop, but the most important detail is that before he arrived to the location, this woman said something like "I'm only 17, is that ok?" And he still went.

Yeah, the police would care more about the girls than the clients, who are "criminals"!

Agency owners are "criminals" too, possibly worse ones according to the law. The law doesn't distinguish between an employer or facilitator and a violent sex trafficker.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if there's an arrangement between law enforcement and some agencies or massage parlours.

It's not the clients or the escorts that are being protected, if that's the case. But yeah I wouldn't be surprised.

Clients are considered criminals yes... but a lot of things are against the law and nobody gets investigated or arrested for it.

I think it's a criminal charge that can be added to others. Like if a client is violent towards a sex worker, and she takes him to court.

If it was that common for clients to be arrested and the police made this a priority, this website wouldn't exist.

For all that we know, police corruption is rare (not impossible) in Canada. I mean, Canada is not a third-world country (yet!)

322 incidents in 11 years. How many interactions did the RCMP have with citizens over that period of time. Hundreds of thousands? Millions? Read carefully the definition of "corruption" in the text. We're not Mexico. Come on! Also, did you notice that we regularly see pimps arrested. I could find you dozens of articles in recent years. One thing that not everyone realize is that the police is very sensitive to their public image. They are very driven by good PR. The public wants to see pimps arrested. Arresting a pimp is always a big win in the media with the pimp's face plastered in the Journal de Montreal.

I think everyone realizes that and that's also the reason why unfortunately I believe this number could be actually higher and many cases are just dying down, not reported, covered, etc.

Could be, but my point is simply that I don't think that it's a factor that significantly affects the administration of justice in Canada.

As for agencies, we saw recently that they are not immune. The article that is cited elsewhere on this board mentioned how complex of an investigation it was, involving electronic surveillance and undercover agents. It takes time and resources, which are not always available. Are we going to bribe everyone involved up the chain of command? There are precendents as well. People have a short memory. Regardless, even if it isn't police corruption, like you said, law enforcement doesn't have the interest or resources.
