Saw this old thread and couldn’t resist adding something. I’ve had better luck meeting people through hobbies and casual social groups than in bars. Montreal has tons of meetup-style events, language exchanges, and small music nights where conversations feel more natural. Curious if anyone here has tried those or found other low-key spots that work better for making real connections.
Fuck dating. It’s honestly cheaper to see a service provider than to spend money going on useless dates. And fuck dating platforms too, they’re not really dating platforms, they’re one night stand platforms. Let’s be realistic: you probably have a better chance of meeting someone genuine at a grocery store than on a dating app. And don’t even get me started on nightlife and bars, that’s the worst place to meet someone. Everyone there is fake and poorly intentioned. At this point, I think the whole concept of “dating” is old-fashioned and completely overrated.

How old are you and what age group girls are you going for ? Generaly speaking, If you're above 50 and hanging out with kids... don't be surprised to be labelled a creeper. Only girls that are going to give you attention are just money hungry... might as well pay them by the hour.
Personally, I have no interest in less than 35 year olds myself. Probably wouldn't date below 40. I've come to really appreciate a certain "profile". Those great girls that married young and had a kid or 2 and were loyal. Marriage turned to shit and both basically waiting for their kids to reach a certain age to get divorced.
Those women desperatly want excitement after being in a dead bedroom for years, are highly sexual and have a no BS approach to life (they have this catching up attitude), confident women are sexy - of course, there are exceptions.
Nice restaurants are fantastic for that (Milos lunch time comes to mind), especially at the bar. Lunch time and early dinner will often have frustrated housewives drinking white wine dreading going back to their boring house life. You just have to look at them and smile to disrupt their conversations.

Some people on this forum are seriously delusional. I’m in my mid-40s, and all of my relationships have been with women in their early to mid-20s and im not a creep or label a creep.

It's a different strokes for different folks type of situation. I have done dating websites for 12-13 years and have had fair success in developing both arrangements with fuck friends and girlfriends, whom I didn't pay for except the usual that you pay for with girlfriends, which BTW are not free. To play the dating game you should probably be prepared at the outset to pay more money and invest more time, but the reward could be an arrangement (or girlfriend) that lasts for years. If you want a companion for trips you want someone you can trust and can also behave discreetly, and suitable candidates are only developed and screened over time and not overnight or on a one night stand. You have to be prepared mentally to play the long game and if you aren't, don't do it.
