If lately if you have wander around the Asian supermarkets you might have noticed the humongous quantity of colorful paper bag. Around the world and especially in Asia the mid autumn festival is celebrated. In some countries it's a celebration of the harvest back in the old days.

It's an important festival where families gather to celebrate and it's marked by a full moon (if you look outside you could see it).

As gift offering is a sign of respect and politeness, those bags are here to be offered (along the moon cakes) to the receiving family or friends.

It's often eaten with a nice hot tea and sometimes people will gather outdoor to enjoy the round and full moon.
In Hong Kong other variations have erupted but throughout Asia each countries have their own version of mooncakes as well.

No sauce. Jist a pilaf seasoning mix (no, not the boxed kind lol). The darker part is just the rice from the bottom of my rice cooker because I kind of like that crust so leave it undisturbed to have it when its finished cooking haha
