I think that you are right. Many people have had their handles exposed, intentionally or not. There are very few satisfactory agencies. I think that some are afraid that they will be be unable to get bookings with the SPs they want if they criticize an agency or even a single escort.
Most of the people who used to post were turned off and away by junior management and board trolls (bullies, etc.). I was commenting the same thing elsewhere today. I suspect that a lot of the reviews are traded off board these days. No, I can't tell you how or where.
This is exactly why we should keep our identities close to the vest. The entire theory of GG's (mostly begun by the infamous Celine of Celine's Fantasies) is counterproductive. Many SPs (as a matter or procedure) surreptitiously take cell phone pics and IM them to the PIMPS. So obviously you want to pay close attention to how the SPs use their cells.
What do you mean ? Are you talking about SPs from good agencies who would take photos to blackmail them ?
Hey, I'm just giving pointers about repairing a broken reviewing methodology. Just one of a multitude of things a hobbiest should consider.
All of these "politics" get in the way of the real business at hand. The SPs providing the best that they can and the clients keeping close track providing constant feedback. All of these elections of #1 GFE, #1 Agency, all of the GT's I, GT II, GT III, GT IV, etc..etc..etc.. has proven to lead to a lot of bias, favoritism, vengeance, and blurs the lines between providers and clients.
People don't post up reviews because they don't want their favorite girl to get booked up because of a good review.
They are also afraid that if she is too popular then her rate will go up.
The problem is most people will share their info with a select few through PMs.
Even when a girl is reviewed people will not add their owns reviews for the same reasons mentioned above.
If people are going to be greedy like that then this board should be shut down.

IMHO I think that there is just simply not that much going on in Montreal, so there's nothing really new and exciting to talk about on this board. Lately I've been lurking on TERB and I would agree that it is more livelier. Montreal has been having a serious SP drought lately. I'm sure it's not easy trying to get new and exciting talent to work for the agencies, but its just the same old SP's going from agency to agency and there are hardly any new hotties to talk about. We need Eleganza to be Eleganza again or a new agency to attract SP's the way they used to. Toronto, although more expensive, is starting to look like a place I'm looking to travel to instead of Montreal. There seems to be more action going on in Toronto than Montreal.
Toronto is the financial capital of Canada. Girls go where the money is. The money is in Toronto obviously. MERB has always had far less hits than TERB and even Fred Zed has posted to say MERB is a small potatoes operation compared to TERB. And that has been the history more or less from day 1, it is nothing new.
Actually EB, you're right, Girls do go where the money is and the problem with Montreal is that agencies here have steadily lowered their prices in the last 5-7 years (much to our content). Agencies still probably make the same cut on each client but the girls have to provide the service at a much lower cost. I've heard as low as 45$ for a 30 minute full service. So if you were "the girls" wouldnt you go where the money is also ?
I like a bargain as much as the next guy, but the prices in Montreal are so cheap as opposed to other north american cities that quality girls no longer want to work here. I lost my favorite mp to these price wars. She now works in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
If less quality girls work here, less reviews will be posted. Agencies are to blame in my opinion. Squeeze your staff too much and they will leave. I have a feeling it will only get worse. Merb probably discusses less than 1% of the actual agencies in Montreal and even less for the MP's . I've seen ads on many websites where girls are advertised at 60$ to 100$ .. And then we ask ourselves why they leave. We all rejoice when a bargain is found, let's see what we'll find in another 5-7 years here in Montreal ...
This board has given preferential treatment to some members, turned a blind eye to others and banned or suspended others that didnt deserve it. Which is another reason for the lower traffic here. In my opinion, Mods shouldnt intervene half as much as they do. But that's mods of the board arent the bulk of the problem. I know for a fact there is a lot of privately discussed reviews here among the older members. I was actually sent a list about a year ago by a member. The list consisted of Sp's sorted by agency, enumerating the services she actually offered. Why wouldnt this be discussed in public instead of private ? It was very useful information for any hobbyist and not something a few privileged members with a sense of entitlement should have.
Anyhow, I say, keep the prices at a normal rate as to insure quality of girls and service and the rest will follow.

Could be the exchange rate. When the Canadian dollar was cheap, MERB was bursting with with activity. Also, when I started to hobby, the reason I avoided Toronto is that CBJ seemed to be the standard service at the time when BBBJ was (and still is) the standard in Montreal. But maybe Toronto changed. I was planning a week of debauchery this fall in Montreal, but after all this talk maybe I will check out terb.
Why not a French merb most of us do know both language ! And it would attract more Franco from outside of 514/450 !
I can't quite put my finger on it, but Montreal does feel less vibrant than it used to. Just everything from fewer active agencies, strip clubs seem dead, less hotties strutting around downtown, crescent st bars extending last call to bring in tourists, downtown hotels closing down/converting into student residences, condos not selling, and so on and so forth.

Going to Montreal was like being a kid in a candy store. The 2002-2005 time window prior to the crash of the US dollar were the greatest 4 years ever in Montreal. It does seem dead compared to then.
