Not sure how many of you here are a trekkie fan but I am one. Recently we lost two legends from the Star Trek universe.

^^^^ Walter Koenig who played Pavlov Chekhov from The Original Star Trek some days ago. Only two are left from Star Trek: TOS.

^^^^ Yesterday Patrick Stewart passed away he played Jean-Luc Picard on the Star Trek The Next Generation.

RIP Walter and Patrick

Rough week for Trekkers in general...but Stewart's death hits hard for me.

I'm a huge Trek fan in general, and TNG is arguably my favorite. Definitely the GOAT of Star Trek (acting-wise). RIP Patrick Stewart...go boldly.

huh I did not know that -- it's a shame his death was overshadowed by Stewart's death. BTW, I think it's Pavel not Pavlov lol.

Lol You are right it is Pavel. True for overshadowed because I guess he was never one of the main characters, he was always kind of a side character. He did not appear till the second season. The main ones were always Kirk, Spock, and McCoy.

Still pretty big, he's one of the half-dozen or so originals:

Kirk Spock McCoy, Uhura Sulu Chekov

As I posted in the other thread:

All this talk about Trekkies and Stargates is funny to me.

These boards are not talking about sports and fast cars, but nerd passions.

Is it true that this place is full of nerds who couldn't get laid when younger, but can pay for it now?

For the original series crew, there's now only Shatner (Kirk) and Takei (Sulu) left. Ironically, Shatner outlived Stewart (!). And it looks like he's still going strong at 95 riding horses, flying up to space a few years ago, singing heavy metal (lol), etc. That's pretty amazing, imho.

Speaking of Stewart, he's the first one to die from the TNG cast. Sigh...the beginning of the end :(
