Wouldn't statehood mean that Greenland would get 2 senators? Since the majority of people in any democracy in the world are to the left of the Republicans, wouldn't that make it more difficult for Republicans to control the Senate? Doesn't the House or Senate have any power to kibosh such an offer?

Amazing how the white people of Greenland are offered statehood so quickly! What about the brown people of Porto Rico, the majority of whom demand independence or statehood? What of the majority dark people of D.C. who have no senate representation and limited House representation?

heheh, no sir

i don't think it's about the people on either the greenland or the PR, it's the land and geographical location of strategic importance and what the land contains and not.

so it's not a color of skin thing you're trying to or think there is, I wouldn't make this to be a race thing.

part of PR, one of its islands, used to be used for training and bombing for US military.
That stopped. PR doesn't really add much benefit to US it's in no rush to bring it in as a state. besides, persons born on PR are auto US citizens.

back in the day, USA having some play in PR prob helped USA just in case w/ Cuba/USSR communism getting too close reach to USA, USA needed it to hedge if shit hit the fan.

I dunno if USA should be getting GL. But if shit hits the fan from China and or Russia... GL will get taken over in miliatarily 'no time'...
and USA would have/end up to be involved to defend/rescue it anyway because likely GL is merely a hopping point for Russia / CHina over to NorthAmerica..

Greenland will get taken over in no time? Really? From China? Too funny. From Russia, hardly, Greenland takes them further from the US mainland. Get serious. Now Baffin and Ellesmere, that's where they'd go.

What's comical appears to be your reading comprehension on several levels.

had clearly stated 'what the land contains' blinkers.

Read my lips Greenland - widely recognized as holding some of the largest untapped mineral and rare earth reserves in the world.

Sir, get serious. lol Baffin and Ellesmere? You are not in the same conversation.

You also miss the point. ANYone of the resource hungry super powers, if they decide to scoop up Greenland.... it can be done in militarily no time.
meanning Denmark can't defend GL for long.

You seem to think for whatver reason. it was said that Greenland's take over is on the verge. not the case was suggested.

What's also laughable is the suggestion of Greenland not worthy of occupation because it takes them in the wrong direction of USA so it rather has to be baffin and ellesmere.

What are they in 1700 with sail boats?

current conventional forces can occupy both. occupy Greenland first and have my hands on that land and what's underneath.

Again, hopping points mean in part, you use one land as staging for the next point and GL is worthy of taking than avoiding for lol, B & L... dont worry they'll get there if they need to but stupid to get there while leaving GL in their rear view mirrors?
