For many years i had listened to only the first half of the song. I found it too slow for my tastes & would stop listening to it before the guitar riffs came in. I wondered why people loved that song. I found it kind of depressing. But this summer i was watching a couple of shows on YouTube about the greatest classic rock songs of all-time & the explanation why. I told myself ‘wow i didn’t know this!’ Then one show hosted by a cute girl who listens to classic rock songs for the first time & shows her instant reactions totally blew my mind! What had i been missing all that time since i first heard the song nearly four decades ago! Since then i’ve totally fallen in love with the song & have listened to it all summer long with the volume at full blast! Lol
