Also...my 2nd complaint of Game of Thrones is that many characters in the show use modern cursing words like fuck, shit, etc and this is supposed to be a medieval fantasy show.

I doubt curse words like that existed in those times. That issue bothered me with the show.
Would you rather they used Chaucer`s old english with sub-titles ?

I`d go back even further to Star Trek .
Star Trek (the original series) was a game changer for sure, in terms of television (I'm a huge Trekker). But I was talking more in terms of @GaryH's post about how television has reached the quality of movies and in some cases has even succeeded it.

A lot of people consider The Sopranos to be the show to break the stigma about television being "less good" than films in terms of production values, acting, etc. I'd put The Sopranos in the same category as Goodfellas and Casino any day.

And of course, now we're getting shows with great special effects we normally see in movies. It started with Game of Thrones, and now we get it with Westworld, the new Star Wars/Trek series', etc.

Others have mentioned Mad Men, and The Wire as the best TV series of all time. I think those 2 shows certainly belong in any objective top 10.
[...]
For the time period 2000-2022/21st century, I go with Mad Men, The Wire, Breaking Bad, and Better Call Saul.
These shows are definitely comparable to The Sopranos. But they also came afterwards as well. The all time debate is whether The Sopranos or The Wire is the best show of all time. Both shows are amazing, but for me it's The Sopranos.

Mad Men is great. In fact the showrunner (Matthew Weiner) was a writer and executive producer for The Sopranos before that.

Regarding the Sopranos, as I never got HBO, I never watched it, but it is my father's favorite TV show of all time.
You definitely should @EagerBeaver. Not only is it one of the best in terms of crime drama, it also can be pretty damned funny too.

I did see the Netflix Sopranos spin-off "Lillehammer", all 3 seasons, and I enjoyed it.
Lillehammer has absolutely nothing to do with The Sopranos apart from the character in Lillehammer is played pretty much the same way as the character he plays in the Sopranos. It's not a spin-off.

I couldnt get into Game of Thrones. I have so many complaints about the show. Like..

I can't stand how there's so many dislikable characters on the show. There's noone to root for, which killed my interest in the show.
Well pretty much all of the Starks are likeable, imho. The only one that has issues from that family is Sansa...but there's more to her character. Tyrion from the Lannisters is pretty great too. Flawed, but likeable.

Also...my 2nd complaint of Game of Thrones is that many characters in the show use modern cursing words like fuck, shit, etc and this is supposed to be a medieval fantasy show.
Of course, probably the most used curse word on Game of Thrones is "cunt". I always get a laugh whenever the word is mentioned (especially when The Hound says it)... :D

I currently watching The Naked Director on Netflix and I find its a nice serie to watch especialy if you like JAV or have a thing for asians womens.

The story is based on real story of the expansion of Japanese Adults Videos during the 80s.

It cover the story of AV director Tōru Muranishi and the rise of the first JAV superstar, Kaoru Kuroki.

It include a lot of sex scenes with beautifuls japaneses standard actress and somes actuals JAV pornstars.

Very fun to watch !

Star Trek Picard Season 3.

All I can say is holy shit. Had to wait until now to get this?!?!?
I'm very pleasantly surprised. The first two seasons were disappointments, to say the least. But this season has been pretty good!

I'm still holding judgement (as it's still not too late for them to blow it, lol). But hopefully they'll be able to close out TNG with the ending they deserve.

Finished The Last of US tonight.

Who would had taught adapting the actual story of the game would work? Shocking right? .

Yes if you played the game you know the story but who care? As somebody who did i still enjoyed it a lot.

Between this and the cluster crap that was the Halo show ... Easy choice. And im more Xbox than PS by far.

I think every VG adaptation crew should learn from TLOU.

Beside that i finished Vampire Academy. Never read the books. Interesting but flawed, sadly it got cancelled after S1. Would i liked to see a S2 even if its nowhere near the best vampire stuff i seen.

The Mandalorian is currently one of my favorite TV series but season 3 is not that good, imo.

To me, season 3 feels generic and aimless. I feel like there's no direction to season 3.

The screenwriting is not as good also.

Disney is really mucking things up that is why. Both of the Marvel and Star Wars franchises are in some sort of creative free fall. Marvel needed to take a break or slow it down a few notches after End Game but it kept pushing directionless nonsense. As for Star Wars too many to list.

After going thru that whole year of full stop pandemic stagnation shows like The Walking Dead and The Last of Us hit home a bit too close and decided not to watch.

If you want to see some truly entertaining Star Trek, then watch Lower Decks.

Yes it's a cartoon, but it captures the spirit of Star Trek and dare I say, revitalizes it. The showrunner should just be entrusted with the Star Trek universe.

And it just so happens the lead & supporting actress are both African American but their depiction is nowhere as nauseating as Discovery.

I watch Lower Decks. It's good for what it is (ie. comedy Star Trek), but that's where it stops for me.

I want REAL (and good) Trek. And right now, S3 of Picard seems to be giving me exactly that. Haven't seen Trek this good since the last season of Deep Space Nine.

P.S.: Strange New Worlds is pretty good too. But watching S3 of Picard is like watching another "good" movie/season of TNG. It's THAT amazing. Hopefully it continues (and ends) like this.
