You can easily get an STD from a BBBJ. Though, I’ve been lucky and haven’t caught anything yet. I don’t know if it’s my imagination but I think the risk of getting it from a SP is less likely than someone you would meet in a bar because they have a higher education level on STDs.
Also, I find I tend to get annoyed if it isn’t offered. Maybe, I’ve been spoiled from my experiences with SPs.

The risk is less for the reciever than for the SP as the infections are transmitted by the ejaculate, and not by saliva. And it is the SPs own health who they have to be cautious over.
Though deepthroating would be where in the throat it would make more of a difference, and apparently not all girls are willing to go that far either when giving bj. It depends on each SPs comfort level whether they will or not.

Respectfully your analogy is flawed.

If you want to push a similar example, you should perhaps compare a bbbj to someone jaywalking. Not crossing on a green light. It increases the risks of you getting hit by a car, like a bbbj increases the risks of catching a std...

It doesn't mean that it will happen, but you are consciously engaging in a risk increasing behaviour.

The issue here is a public health one as well. As this affects others that might come (really not a play on words) afterwards. But that's another debate altogether.
