Clients will never be happy but when they are, damn it’s amazing. It’s not that satisfying clients is really hard but more that they’ll always complain about that one thing you thought you had under control.

Hosting from your private home? Too messy, too much personal belongings around.
Hosting from a shared incall? Too cold, they don’t like the fact that you don’t live there.
Hosting downtown? No parking, too busy, too much traffic.
Hosting from another neighborhood? Too far, too residential, not discreet enough.

It doesn’t matter what your situation is, someone will complain about it so just do what makes YOU happy and comfortable.

Low volume? She must not be really good if she doesn’t see many people.
High volume? She must not be very tight if she sees so many people.
Low rates? It must be a scam or a bait & switch.
High rates? Who does she thinks she is.

It doesn’t matter what rates you choose, someone will complain about it so just pick rates that make YOU happy and comfortable.

Professional photos? I bet she doesn’t even look like that in person.
Selfies only? I bet those selfies are old.
Mix of both professional photos and selfies? She doesn’t look the same on her selfies and professionally edited photos. Scammer!

It doesn’t matter if you pay $800 for professional photos or if you take selfies in your bedroom, someone will complain about it so just go for what makes YOU happy and comfortable.

Offering discounts because times are hard for clients too? Business must be slow.
Increasing rates because times are hard for providers? Who does she thinks she is and who does she thinks we are. Times are rough!

It doesn’t matter what marketing you use, someone will complain so just handle your business how it makes YOU happy and comfortable.

TLDR: It’s very easy to get all of those comments, threads, reviews get to you and spend hours trying to please anyone. The truth is, you won’t and frankly you shouldn’t. Just like a puzzle, some pieces fit into each other and we shouldn’t force anything. There’s the perfect provider for each client and the perfect client for each provider. Trying to appeal the masses has never worked and never been a good idea.

I totally agree. I've always participated in my companies committees to organize events for the colleagues.
We always have hard times deciding what locations, activities, food, etc. to choose trying to think for other people. We always ended with a satisfied majority but there is always the minority who find something to complain. We usually run polls afterwards to collect data and comments. Because we know that if let people voluntarily give feedback the most vocals ones are usually the unsatisfied ones.

Bottom line as you mentioned: do what you think is good and you like, you can't satisfy everyone.

Be happy in what you do and how you do it. Life is far from perfect and most of all you can't control what others think or say of/to you. Just go with you flow and make the most of the moment. Now is the best time, yesterday is gone and you don't know when tomorrow will not be.
May sound cheezy, but that's how I try to live and influence others to do the same.

Without downplaying your gripes at all if it makes you feel any better it's not limited to your profession. Especially when you're in people-facing roles you always have to deal with the stupid, the rude, the inconsiderate, the unthinking and the impossible-to-please-no-matter-what-you-do people. There's no escaping them. The real trick is to have a zen moment and try not to become one of those people in the way that you respond to the idiots that cross your path. You can't escape them so you just have to deal with them in the best way you know how and immunize yourself to the processes that create the situations you hate. If the same things happen too often then some soul searching may be needed to figure out why too.

At the end of the day there's average intelligence, average courtesy, average empathy or perception and that means for any trait half the people are below average by definition, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that half the world is a bunch of stupid, unfeeling and uncaring morons. :)

:p I've lived enough, threw enough hardships in my life.
I have been told how I am choosy and picking my clients makes me privledged.

Truth is I burned myself out many times in my life aiming to please others. I have my mental health to protect.

When I chose to get into this, it was going to be something that adds to my life and future, and I refuse to let it be something that gets me to hate it. Meaning, I'm going to be available my way to those I wish to see, and I refuse to let others tell me I am doing it wrong. I am doing it how I may be able to survive it, and have it be something positive in my life, rather than be something that brings me down.

I wear a solid metal bracelet on my arm at all times, to remind me always. Engraved, 'May you be proud of the work you do, the person you are, and the difference you make.' I've been wearing it since I started being available as a provider.
Only way I can be proud, is by doing things my way.

At the risk of being accused of simping (yikes!) I'm going to say that I completely respect the way that you communicate on this board, that you speak your mind without being obnoxious and you come across as being both authentic and intelligent. So, keep doing what you're doing. It's working.
