Les Islanders se sont faufilés en séries par la peau des fesses, il était évident que c’était l’équipe la plus faible à se qualifier.

Ils sont vieillissants, ça manque de jeunes jambes pour ramener un peu de vitesse.

This can be said for a lot of their fading stars but I don’t think it’s the major reason for the turn of events in this series. So far, the Panthers have shown much more speed and precision in their execution, they are extremely aggressive in pressuring their opponents , even when killing penalties. And the Bob is showing all his strength while appearing so calm in front of his net that the Bolts are now starting to hesitate when attacking.

I’m very impressed with the Panthers so far. They are playing their best hockey in this series.

If I remember well, the Panthers were finalists in the last Stanley Cup final.
They still have a sold team.

The Panthers and the Canes have both looked good. The Rangers would need to get by the Canes, and then the Panthers, just to make the finals. Which looks very daunting. I think the Rangers had some problems with the Panthers in the regular season. They played 3 games and the Panthers won 2 of the 3. All 3 games very close in score and shots on goal.

The Islanders pretty much kissed their playoffs goodbye when they totally collapsed in game 2 when they gave up a 3-goal lead including the game-tying goal with Carolina’s goalie out & seconds later giving up the game-winning goal. Then they had a massive meltdown after the empty net goal by Carolina. The Isles had no business being in this game but nearly stole one which meant they would have been back on the island with the series tied at one. But it wasn’t meant to be.

Indeed they barely squeaked into the playoffs but let’s not forget that’s how Florida got in last season & they ended up playing in the Cup final.

I’ve picked the Canes vs Jets for the gran finale! Hahaha

You guys were worried about the Rangers taking penalties going after or trying to neutralize Wilson, but if you are watching the game, the Rangers aren't concerned. When they can't send Rempe after Wilson they will send Trouba. They don't care if Trouba takes a penalty because the Rangers are very confident in their penalty kill. 5-10 years ago you never wanted to put the Caps on the PP because Ovechkin has the most PP goals in NHL history. And a dangerous slapshot that was painful to block or stop. But Ovechkin isn't the same player, and the Rangers PK is very dangerous with Zbanejad and Kreider, and you could see it. They almost had 2 shorthanded goals on that PP. Zbanejad and Kreider are maniacs in open ice and the Rangers almost want to take penalties so they can unleash those 2 on the PK.

Rempe just performed another very late elbow hit to the head of a Caps defenseman.
The Caps player is gone to the players room.
He got only a 2 minutes penalty.
He deserved a major penalty for attempt to injure.
Perhaps the league will look at that hit.

Womaniser,

What you have to understand is that while the Rangers have had some solid to good teams in the last 10 years, they have noticeably lacked toughness. The current Rangers team is much tougher than its recent predecessors. Matt Rempe is at the center of that. He represents young energy and exuberant toughness, and is adored by fans who see what is going on after watching years of the Rangers being out-toughed by the opponents especially in the playoffs. Matt Rempe has become a fan darling in part because he embodies this new infusion of toughness into the Rangers team. Fans got tired of seeing their team bullied by various opposing goons, and now they see the shoe on the other foot.

And the other thing is if you watched the game tonight the Rangers scored another spectacular shorthanded goal (I think by Goodroe) and on that play they made Ovechkin look like he was 75 years old. It's no longer a big deal when Rempe goes to the penalty box. The Rangers have a dangerous PK which can score shorthanded goals.

Ovechkin is pointless in 3 games vs. NYR

Could be over for the Islanders and Lightening today, Oilers played well last night and the Leafs need a win today.
Amazon bought rights to stream Monday night games for the next two years from Rogers.

BIG BIG WIN for CANUCKS/COL and OILERS....McDavid/Draisaitl /Hayman are having a ball contre les vielles jambes des KINGS....et les punitions/penalties ont coûté très cher tant aux KINGS qu'aux JETS....you can"t play en désavantage numérique
vs de telles puissances offensives....you will pay the price pour votre indiscipline.

Jets vs AVS

Despite winning 60% of the face offs the Jets gave 3 goals to the Avs PP(33.3%).
That’s the story of the game. Helleybuck, with an awful 5.05 goals per game average and a .871 is definitely not up to the task. If you are Bowness do you go with Brossoit for game #4? I would!

Nylander's injury has been a closely held secret, but ESPN is reporting its migraines, probably due to the constant stress of having to produce points for a team with suck-ass goalies and defense. What if a migraine strikes when Toronto goes down 2-0 and he is stressed out? Or when Marchand antagonizes him and gets in his head? What then? Take an aspirin?

Montgomery: Swayman is In the Leafs Heads:
I personally think the posts here have underestimated the Bruins defense and goaltending, especially compared with their Maple Leafs counterparts. This is the pro-Canadian bias which rears its head I think, probably unwittingly. It is what it is, but the great thing about sports is that fan bias doesn't factor into the results.
