I see you are a "true believer". Me, I am a 100% Patriots fan, but I don't speak in absolutes, especially this early. All I can say in September is...I don't know, but I think our chances are very good.
You guys are so cute. Everybody is so objective voting for their team. Bills, no way. Cowboys, if Romo can actually play when it counts. Doc, maybe I'll bet you $100 the Bills don't win??? Not sure I want to get into too much betting though.
He sucked last year in the playoffs only when the pass protection started breaking down. Against the Giants, Romo was stellar in the first half, but then in the second half, the Dallas OL started to wear down and the Giants put pressure on Romo resulting in a succession of bonehead plays and miscues. Generally it is Football 101 that a huge OL should wear down the opponent's DL as the game goes along, instead of the other way around. This did not happen for the Cowboys in the playoffs vs. the Giants, for 2 reasons: (1) the Cowboy OL is aging and perhaps was on the field too long; (2) the Giants had all pro talent in defensive ends Strahan, Umenyiora and Tuck (best 3 man DE rotation in NFL last year) that was putting major, major pressure on the Dallas OL to the point where they were panting and out of breath at the end of the game and you could see it. Romo was running for his life dude!!!
Don't blame the QB when the OL did not get the job done. That was the worst the Dallas OL was outplayed all year last year, but no real surprise as that was the same Giants DL that sacked Donovan McNabb 12 times in a game last year (6 by Umenyiora).
Well, we agree about his playoff record. As for the breakdown of his offensive line against the Giants, during the Super Bowl last year Brady got pressured, hit after the throw and sacked many times, all on a bad foot. I would say his offensive line was up to par either for much of the game. And, still he managed to engineer a drive and take the lead very late with only 2:48 left. So the difference between Brady and Romo is one found a way and one didn't. It was the defense and clock issues that lost the game. Romo...psssst...he needs work.
