Joe Beef is supposed to be a good restaurant but the name is misleading. It is not a steak house...indeed there seems to be little beef on the menu (or at least not much when I saw it). It seems to specialise more in seafood. The name is taken from a character in Montreal's past history.

I don't mind if they don't fully come back in style...but would love to have more women forgo the bald look. And while we're at it, forget the implants! :) For me, natural in all respects wins out every time

If you're looking for something short term (the room, I mean...:D ), the Chablis on St Jacques has suites with gas fireplaces available as well.

I was on vacation last week so missed out on all the fun in the airports. I made up for it this morning, though... there was a 35-40 minute wait to leave my bag at the drop off point...plus another 75 minute wait for security. Man, I hate this new world of ours!!!

THe Chablis on St Jacques does have a number of nice rooms with hottubs as part of the main room. The rates for 4 hours are in the range you stated. I know of no other place that has tubs like that.

I saw them last week. They were promoting Mexico winter getaways. Now, I might be interested if I could convince one (or more :D ) of them to join me down there

I've had to use the hotel across the street from the Chablis on occasion because the chabllis was fully booked. I can't remember the name, but it shares a parking lot with the Harveys. One of the occasions I visited with a girlfriend and got a room that had a great little chair in it. I...
