Good point charmer, I had one occasion where the girl insisted on using hers. Putting aside a random crazy person, the only logical reason I could see for this was that she properly cared for her hats and couldn't guarantee that I had, so I was quite happy to use hers.

No worries. Whichever provider you're with you can just go to their site, they all publish their pay as you go rates. They'll probably charge you a small fee to activate your own device rather than buying a new one for the new line but shouldn't be a huge amount. In another thread somewhere...
