This is not quite true. The Holiday Inn Express, formerly Hotel Les Suites Fauborg, also levies a municipal tax. It is usually around $2.50 per night. I have been hit with it many times by this hotel for such a tax, so I doubt the Holiday Inn Select is the only hotel in Mtl that levies this tax.
