The journalist is going to be on Tout Le Monde En Parle on Sunday.
oy vey...I still feel this will fizzle out at some point. It will just take another week. The news is "flooded" with other stuff. This "journalism" is not journalism and gives a very narrowly focused version of things that does not represent reality. It is easy to "criticize" but that journalist is not bringing any real solutions.

I watched the interview with seargent Martineau and he was pretty good not to fall into the traps of the interviewer. Ultimately ressource allocation and primary lines of enforcement are dictated by the DPCP. These are smart people not so easily intimidated by a sensationalist media report.

What this story does is not only unfairly target Euphoria (when there is so much worse going on), it puts a lot of pressure on the law enforcement. We wil see how this plays out.

Has anything like this media attention happened in recent history in Toronto or Vancouver? Where things are arguably on a larger scale? Just curious

I have not heard anything like this happening in Toronto. I think it is the media using this to get bait and click to get viewers hyped up and to keep on getting government funding. La Presse made the XO story and now Radio Canada wanted a piece of this, if anything Radio Canada is pissed that they did not get the story first.

They brought Clementine back... They are making it sound like nearly every guy is strangling, abusing, burning with cigarettes, etc, the providers and there is zero security. This seems to be the opposite of what I've heard which was there is prompt security especially to enforce payment and during the rare occasions safety. E.g. one provider said that at XO, two people 6'5 men showed up at the door, came in and security was able to remove them.

RUMORS circulating strongly now that this was a TARGETTED Action against Euphoria. It seems they were the first agency who openly allowed Escorts to put their RACIAL preferences on display and that DID NOT please a lot of people and that led to this Hit piece by Enquete disguised under broader terms.

The agency model of business is the most vulnerable to attack by the abolitionists.
Abolitionists will go after any model. The easiest for them was the massage parlors. The most visible sector, with street adresses. They went after those from the 90s. To what effect? Not much, I think. Many smaller ones closed, but I think the main reason is that it's hard to make money running small parlors. Otherwise they (they abolitionists) had no help from LE who absolutely love to have businesses with a street adress.

I have little knowledge of the Montréal agency model, only that of the ones in Québec City, at least until 2015. They may be a bit different. I would estimate that a majority the escort business based on the number of transactions was incall as early as the 90s in Québec City. They were known inside out by LE. Security wise it compares with massage parlors. What would have been the point of closing them to have the business desappear under the carpet?

I have respect for the organisations helping victims of the industry as much as I have for those helping victims of other industries. Their trade is helping victims. All they see are victims. However an utilitarian would opine that when attacking incalls they may addup more potential victims then the one they help substract.

If it could help to soften your pessimism , Capt, i think incalls are there to stay. The agency model may change a bit but as long as they serve the market good enough they are there to stay. Ok, I hear the merb community respond: well two of the ones who did just that closed. In a larger time frame, however, I think it's anecdotal.

* of course I'm not saying that any model fits all or that safety depends mainly on the model.

i just listened to the radio with the journalist from the same interviewer who interviewed Clémentine (Marie-Eve Petterson).
Painful to listen to because of some falsities (like Euphoria never bans clients) and stereotypes.

My feeling is this is a journalist that just wants to get attention (which he succeeded)

They all want attention and, for the most, they are a pain in the ass.

Nobody watch the news anymore anyway except boomers

I think one of the things that stood out to me in this piece was the way the journalist used a social media influencer to film an encounter with James. I’m not necessarily saying it constitutes entrapment, but I personally don’t feel that approach was necessary to get the point across in the article.

Secondly, of course there are going to be bad clients, and I’m absolutely against anyone being coerced or forced into doing something they don’t want to do. That should go without saying.

However, I feel like this article paints every agency as if they’re the absolute scum of the earth, which I don’t think is a fair representation of the industry as a whole.

In my own experience, I’ve never met a sex worker through a provider where I felt she was being forced into this line of work, or where I noticed anything that made me suspect something wasn’t right. I recognize that my personal experience doesn’t invalidate the experiences of others, but I also don’t think it’s fair to generalize an entire industry based on the worst examples.

It’s a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison, but the journalist could just as easily write an article about the way some men on traditional dating apps treat women, including those who objectify them or treat dating like a numbers game, especially when it comes to non consensual activities.

There are bad actors in every environment, and I think it’s important to acknowledge those realities without painting everyone with the same brush.

I’ll stick to the facts: Euphoria was a really good agency—it’s sad that it went down.
I’m a bit surprised James got caught like that; after all this time in the industry, he must have let his guard down. But with all the mini-cameras, microphones, and spy glasses around these days, it’s very risky.
They’re going to talk about it on *Tout le monde en parle* this Sunday—it’s a very popular show in Quebec. We’ll have to see if the media keeps covering it the following week; if they do, it’ll be very bad for the industry and very dangerous for hobbyists.

It's like Euphoria is having its XO demise moment but with different circumstances & details.

So I kinda wonder is Forever next?
What's stopping these journalists & authorities from getting all high & mighty and go after them next? Or a different agency?

How about not sharing unfounded rumors

I've read the article for the third time and i draw another conclusion. It referred specificaly at a plan created months ago to follow the recommandations on the report of " La Commission spéciale sur l'exploitation des mineures" from 2020. FROM 2020!!! It took them over 6 years to put something in place on a subject so important and was coming from a official commission lasting months and touring major Quebec cities. Agencies are the least of their concern unless they are dealing with minors. I.e XO. They are presently spining it in medias so they look like "on the job".
Commission are extremely efficient, look how they tackled and solved the problem of corruption in Construction. As a consequence we now have the best roads in the world

Agencies were always too good to be true, it's a miracle it took this long before they got exposed. It was supposed to be illegal, but booking a session was easier and quicker than booking a Uber ride.. Things will change and get more expensive, sadly.
