Not sure your friend could be a reference or a good example to generalize circumcision.

I do agree that this act being done because it's common/required for a religious purpose is outdated.
But the same could be said in North America where it's "common practice" to do so to avoid potential future issues "just to be safe". It's like removing wisdom teeth once they appear to be on safe side kind of things.

I prefer it to be applied if needed. I have little memories of having it when I was a kid. But back in my time there was no anesthesia or partial anesthesia ...

The horror of the masked and gloved female doctor standing over me and preparing to circumcise me is a horror that I will endure for the rest of my life. I will never forget the experience and procedure, even though I was less than a year old, lol.

I heard some keep it as a memento
