We be doing the annoying time change twice a year for the past hundred years. I get why it was introduced and it made sense before but in this day and age with technology, people working evening shifts, night shifts, it does not make any anymore. Back them almost everyone worked dayshift, there was no internet or tvs. Now it is nothing much but a nuisance. It distorts many things and you loose one hour of sleep in the spring where we do see a rise in accidents. There has been a lot of talk to end with the time change but no one has taken any action. Saskatchewan has not participated in this time change. Ontario is ready to do it but is awaiting Quebec. They also want to wait for the US but it is stuck in Congressional limbo.

^^^^^ Well BC took action and they will be advancing their hour for the last time. I want us to be in permanent daylight savings time. No more springing back. Scrap it all. When winter comes it is better to have that extra daylight at the end of the day. What do you all think? Are any of you fed up of this time change twice a year?

Don't really care, but I will point out that having the extra daylight in winter comes at the expense of having extra darkness for the rush hour in the morning, which is the most dangerous time to drive when people are still sleepy and inattentive. There's tradeoffs no matter which way you go. I think most people would agree with you and ask for those extra summer hours of light though.

Spring... forward. Fall.... back.

That's the trick I learned so I could remember.

Well, I am tired of this. I was thinking about it a few minutes ago, and I thought the Standard Time could be better than Daylight Saving Time. It's during the winter that I need sun earlier in the day, especially that I try to be more of a morning person! But I don't care which one, I just want to stop changing the time every 6 months.

I like it because it’s a reminder that summer is coming and on the flip side, sadly, that the warm weather is over.

What happens if you're working during time change? Do you work one less hour for the same pay when spring time hits? Do you work an extra hour when fall time hits?

If you book an escort at that exact time, do you leave right after your shower in the spring and stay an extra hour in the fall? (No you don't. Don't try that. But it was a funny thought experiment lol)

concur we should not be changing every 6 months.
But here's also food for thought... Quebec should be on Maritime time! Think about it... when it's nice and sunny here at 8 PM and the sun's about to go down in 1/2 hour, being in their time zone, this would actually happen at 9!!

Yeah it works like that where I work for those who work night shifts. Yet another reason why I try to work days as much as possible

Yeah an extra hour with you sounds good to me.
Too late now but I will keep that in mind next year lol.

That is exactly what happens. I did night shifts, worked 12hr shifts, during fall back I ended up working a 13hr shift and during spring forward I worked a 11hr shift.
