What's the matter with you guys that you care more about the personalities and what they are thinking about each other than whether progress can be made and the war resolved? People are dying and all you care about is who comes out of this looking good? How about rooting for peace maybe being the result of this process instead of rooting for someone to fail? Last year, I had a triple bypass open heart surgery. That caused a diaphragm irritation that lead to an hickhup crisis (that is quite frequent).

I think the sad reality is that leaders of the world want war. Politicians are not in their role to make the world or their country a better place. They're there to make money. Weapon manufacturers are one of their biggest contributors, especially in America. Dwight D. Eisenhower warned us about this in his farewell address. The military industrial complex is too big of a money maker. Without constant wars, the profits dry up. Ukraine is the unfortunate sacrificial lamb.

War is the worst and should be avoided at all costs, except when your freedom is at stake. And this is the situation that is spreading fast from Ukraine to Eastern Europe and beyond. But Europeans are still soundly asleep after 80 years of the protected peaceful life. When they wake up it may be too late.

Perhaps for Western Europe maybe but I doubt any of the iron curtain or Scandinavian countries want to relive Russian rule again I doubt they have forgotten or forgiven.
Correction: 80 years for the Western Europe and 35 + years for Eastern (after the fall of the Soviet block). Yes, protected mostly by the US military power.
