I’m curious to know where everyone on this board is from! :)

- What’s your experience like where you live?

- Do you see yourself staying there long-term, or are you planning to move to a different province, state, or even country? ✈

- What’s your favourite place to visit - whether it’s a city, country, or even a cozy local spot you always go back to? I’m always curious about people’s go-to destinations! ✨

- If you have dual citizenship, feel free to vote for multiple places

I am staying where I am. I need my wide varieties of yoga studios and I love my gym lol. Not planning to move. I also like to live in cities that are walkable with a good public transportation system. Not into owning a car as I find that an annoying expense. Lived in Montreal for about three years. Loved it but hate the winters. Lived in Vegas for about three years as well hate the dessert heat and I needed a car. Realized these two cities are more fun visiting than actually living there.

Oh also when I lived in Montreal I thought I would be a hobbying horndog till my balls fall off. Nope I just met with two girls for a month and that was it. Montreal opened my eyes to Vegan foods btw. Fondly remember that restaurant Crudessence before it betrayed itself and sold to a corporate entity that drove it to the ground.

I have friends in AZ and I seriously don’t know how they handle that heat… but the desert is just breathtakingly beautiful. I wanna go tumbleweed hunting so bad :D Temps drop at night, but those starry skies? Unreal. No pollution, just pure magic✨

Thank you for your comment ❤️

I won't move for a long time, I've got everything I need and more within driving distance, but when I do it'll likely be into a motorhome/van life situation in North America or finding a nice place in Europe I can hop around from.

I am from Halifax. I do business visits to Montreal often. I would love to live and work in Montreal but I can’t speak French that makes it tougher. Would love to live in Spain or Portugal . I love architecture and sunny weather

From Montreal. I will hopefully move to another country in 2026-27. Scoping out a location in January for a few months to see how life is there. No future here for my kids and I'd prefer to have the option available for my wife not to work if she doesn't want to.

Hard question for me (hence happy that the poll allows multiple responses :))
But I answered: South America, Europe and Asia. And now North America/Canada/Montreal.

I've always been asked where I call home or where I will be. Short answers is home is where I am currently and where I'll be depends of which direction the wind will take me ... (I.e. where a company will give me a pay check hahaha)

I have dual citizenship and waiting for my 3rd now ...

Hello Valentina,
You don't need validation to make your choice. Your happiness is in your own hands. This is if I read your mind correctly.
Since 2012 I have lived, studied and worked In Montreal. Originally I am from East Europe. My father worked in Montreal between 1970-1976. According to his memory, during that period Montreal was one of the best cities in the world. Around 2010 someone tried to kill me and at that moment I realized that I needed a change. I chose Canada-Montreal because I was told that this part is more european. Very long and expensive immigration process (2 years and 10 000 CAD). All the pictures that I had in my head before coming here completely disappeared once I came here. However, I was so busy with the process work-study, that I never realized that Montreal or the immigration process is just one very well done advertisement. Inertia killed my senses and I remained blind to all the problems. During the past 13 years as an immigrant I accumulated a lot of personal loss and during the last one I just opened my eyes. Somewhere on the road someone changed the immigration policy. This process started around 2015. These new immigrants are coming and in 5-10-15 years they will change the image of your country. On the local side - tired from the winter and the short summer, tired from so many hidden racism (black inclusion, lgbtq+inclusion), tired from so many fake slogan, tired from so many procedures and missing the human approach and understanding, the stupid green line on the metro that brokes multi times every day, so many lonely people, green and blue hairs, lack of style but so many strange personalities, no gender toilet, etc. Now I am at home. I just finished my dinner at the beach. As usual I did kitesurf, and I walked in the sea garden. Recently I saw death (my father passed away in my hands). I saw from very close up how fragile life is. I decided to leave the corporate world in Montreal and 5,000 a month behind, just to be happy. There are so many beautiful places in Europe. If you don't travel you will die slowly. I am following some facebook groups and I noticed that a lot of Canadians are searching for a way to immigrate or to spend the rest of their life in Europe.

I am very sorry for your loss ❤️

I’m also happy you are choosing happiness over money and are going back to your simple roots and are going to enjoy what is left of Europe (lol - I will refrain again from getting too political) I LOVE the motherland / other places Europe has to offer as well and visit it as much as I can. Just taking a walk is culturally enriching unlike here where you are stuck in a concrete jungle and have to pay for most activities. Not to mention the amazing healthy home grown food, etc.

Again, agree with a lot of what you’re saying.

Montreal born and raised. I moved to Ontario for like 4 years to get away from the French, but Montreal is home. I couldn't feel settled right anywhere else.

I even still live in the very area/district I grew up in. That thing about familiarity, and not liking change. (lived in the same area all my life, and I still can't tell you all the street names in my location.)

I really do have a small world compared to many. Never had a passport, didn't need one. Only went as South as park safari, as West as Niagara, as East as Sherbrooke & as North as Quebec city.

I feel blessed to live in a part of the world, where the world comes to me to learn about it, as I would have never had the opportunity to learn about it if I had to go out into it. Others are more than willing to share their life and expieriences with me, and I am more then willing to be enriched by their expieriences.

Hello Valentina,
Simple like this:
- culturally enriching vs concrete jungle
- home grown food

Take a look on this video mostly the black and white parts, I am missing these people.
