For those who still aren't sure, the juice probably isn't worth the squeeze at this point.

For us? It depend on the situation of the person i suppose. I think its more risky when you have a career or a reputation to preserve. Thats where they can hurt you. Personally im not exactly looking at having my picture spread in the newspaper as an escort client, but if it happen then what? Oh well... Its not exactly a secret in my case. My friends all know, my familly know, i never been ashame of it. Im not in a relationship either. In term of justice i don't think that would be a huge sentence for a first offense.

That said i do think the incall model is the more risky part as of now.

Escorting is legal in Quebec ? You meant maybe paying someone “just for companionship” ?
Yup...note i did not mention prostitution. According to the law...what goes between two persons, if consensual is not a crime. If it was...they should start arresting Husband and wifes and gold diggers....:D:D:D

I would suggest that you are very much the exception in terms of how open you are about your activities in this hobby.

I just finished watching the Enquete piece. Well, that was pretty bad. Definitely some important issues were brought up, but everything from the aesthetics (first shot: a rainy windy night) to the content were transparently, to those who know better, unreliable. But most people don't know better.

Dr. Mounir Bashour, a well-known Montreal eye surgeon, has been officially suspended and fired by LASIK MD following a major investigative exposé. The Collège des médecins du Québec (CMQ) is also moving quickly to enforce an emergency suspension of his medical license.

  • The Secret Identity: An undercover investigation by Radio-Canada’s flagship program Enquête revealed that Dr. Bashour was living a secret double life. Under the underground alias "Ryker", he operated as a primary recruiter and operator within a luxury escort network in Montreal called "XO."
  • Severe Abuse Allegations: Multiple independent sex workers and former partners came forward accusing him of physical assault and non-consensual violence. Complainants stated he had a dangerous fixation with biting and drawing blood during encounters, earning him the underground nickname "Docteur vampire" (The Vampire Doctor).
  • Targeting Minors: Journalists traced his digital footprint to online forums where, using his "Ryker" persona, he wrote explicit, non-consensual stories targeting a real-life 16-year-old high school student and expressed highly problematic desires involving minors.

⚖️ Official Actions Taken
  1. Clinic Ban: LASIK MD immediately suspended Dr. Bashour indefinitely and scrubbed his name, photos, and biography from their platforms. All of his scheduled patients have been reassigned to other surgeons.
  2. Medical Board Radiation: The Collège des médecins du Québec (CMQ) declared him an immediate threat to public safety and initiated emergency procedures to enact a "Radiation provisoire d'urgence" (emergency temporary revocation of his medical license) while urging more victims to step forward.

Would you agree that the current system garantees better safety conditions for independant escorte and their client vs escorte in agencies and their client? I dont have the data, but from the stand point of someone who juste wanna have Casual sexe, dealing with an independent SP seems more reassuring because if feels like the escorte wants to ne There. ( That's is if the SP doesnt have a pimp). Agencies would work and have less horror stories IMO if the structures around sexe work were more clearly established and accept.

But like I Said, we are in a society with big judaism-christian values. Dont expect a state journal like CBC making an video article on sexe work having grown ass women saying they love sexe and the life style even if it's true for 70% of them..
I think decriminalization would help greatly for everyone's safety. Also realistic education about sex work.. not glamorization. I have personal ideas about what the ideal conditions would be for both agency escorts and indies. I think they are connected at the end of the day.

I don't think it's relevant whether women love being escorts or hate it. I know this is a controversial idea. I think some escorts absolutely love their jobs, which doesn't mean they never have bad experiences. I think some are there for the money and circumstances and that isn't the same as being forced by a pimp and that doesn't mean they hate everything about their job.

What's the most important is working conditions and making sure sex workers are treated like human beings and not seen as trash by society anymore. I think that also comes with taking about how not all John's are these terrible sadistic old men after barely legal girls.. if that was the case I would be out of work lol

An another fact to consider is the contradiction in the legislation. While someone can legally sell "sexuals services", it is illegal to buy them. That contradiction is a open door to contestation at the court based on the fact that a right is given but the means to use it is not. It is why we never see case involving consenting adults beeing prosecuted in courts. Thoses cases being prosecuted involved (at the best of my knowledge) some aggravatings factors such as violence, non-consenting acts, drugs, minors, fraud, etc.
The governement and the supreme court don't want another case (British Colombia 2012) involving sex workers associations asking the respect of their right to work for a living and having to officially rule in favor of them by decriminalizing customers. Or to go back, against all the jugements of the 30-40 last years and criminalized sex workers again. Thus the actual statu quo on that situation.
There is nothing to gain from a political point of view to go against customers who respects the rules, the notion of consent and draw no complaints from anyone.

My take on this is this is all really bad journalism. Sex and money sells and writing this article against sex work will sell. If they talk good about it they might alienate many of their viewers and it is not politically correct. La Presse posted about XO so now Radio Canada wanted a piece of this and posted about Euphoria. It is the classic bait and click scenario. The article is very biased. And remember the far-left took over Canada, feminism is very strong and they will never support prostitution. They see men wanting sex as the devil and buying sex as a form of patriarchy that the feminists hate. We see it every year about the anti-prostitution campaign during Grand Prix being pushed by CLES. The media posting good about prostitution and they will alienate their feminist viewers.

On verra j'imagine.
Aucun rapport, mais en lisant l'article, je me dis que ça risque de complexifier aussi le recrutement des agences.

I can't add much to this topic without getting into personal knowledge of some providers, but what I can say is that some of the ad-libs in the video definitely give a sensationalist vibe.

8:31, they're talking about the age of some providers and take Leila as an example of jailbaiting... except she's been doing this job longer than I've been a legal adult, lmao. Took me 2 seconds to verify, but they couldn't?

This reminds me of the crackdown on sex industry in Dongguan, China in March 2014, soon after Xi Jinping came to power. I'm from a close region in China. At that time, I was young with no money. I never received the legendary Dongguan service.

The crackdown started with extensive all day news coverage from state controlled news outlets. Then the deputy mayor and several police chiefs in Dongguan were fired. In a week, the whole sex industry was dead. It never recovered. Dongguan was once the sex capital in East Asia, not any more.

Things in Montreal don't look good this year. I won't use incall agencies for now.
