My prediction is that Pot stocks will start to slide once the law makes pot legal in Canada.

Has anyone been following pot stocks, I've been looking at Tilray for about a week I'm glad I missed the boat on this one, yesterday these stocks went crazy , 2 months ago , IPO was $17 a share, now they are at $241 a share yesterday they hit $300 a share. Talk about a bubble thats going to bust, I would't touch these stocks with a ten foot pole, they remind me of the dot com bubble of 20 years ago, I lost about a hundred grand. I got lucky with WEED & AURORA, I'm presently up over 2 hundred grand, at $63 & $11 a share respctively, I was up about 250 K when weed hit $74 a share last week. Is it time to sell or wait till legalization ?

I have been invested in cannabis for almost 2 years. There have been roller coaster rides along the way. Holding long and strong has allowed me to quadruple my investment.
I currently hold about 15 cannabis stocks. I didn't touch Tilray because I have enough to watch over.

You might want to do some research on Reddit - Weed the Green Rush and especially yesterdays (sept 19) posting on youtube by the Chart Guys where he is recommending a cautious approach as we near legalization.

As of november 2016: These stocks are highly speculative and move together like a roller coaster.
Smart money says that you should buy on rumour and sell on good news......also when the small investor starts being interested then sell and run for higher ground.
If you would have bought them 3 months ago and sold last week then you would have tripled or quadrupled your money.
If you bought last week and kept till to-day then you are down 20 to 30%.
As I said highly speculative....may double by Christmas or drop 50% by New Years

Two years after this post we can now conclude that it was a very clever or lucky guest at this point. Those who bought those stocks 2 years ago made a lot of money if they sold it recently in the highs or the lows. But actually I think it is highly speculative to buy onless you are ready to keep it long term, 10 years or more. If those stocks loose 25-50% of their actual value, I could be in to buy some but it would be a long time investment. Every comparaison has it low points but I would compare it to virtual money as the bitcoin.

Prediction : In one year from now the pot stocks will go down to 1/3 the value.

I am glad you are not my advisor, I don't think that is even close to a possibility.
You are projecting a loss of 2/3 of their value.
WEED currently trading around $65 we will check in a year if it is hovering around $22-$23

I'm not waiting till next year I just sold 3150 shares of WEED @ 73.50 a share 2 days before legalization

made myself a little pocket money ( still have 4000 shares left which I'm going to hold for the future )

I also ordered 30g online got it in 24 hrs., looks like I'm going to smoke for free for the next 20 yrs.or the end whatever comes sooner

Look behind you.
^^^^^^^^ Many people are saying that quite a few will go bankrupt and only a few will survive, only 3 or 4 majors will survive and their prices are too high now to buy, people should have bought 1.5 yrs ago. Do not let the early frenzy fool you, once people note the higher prices and lower quality they will stop shopping there and back to their dealer. Unless they get bad weed at a high price already. People I know in Edmonton went to check it out, nice store but over priced and the majority was sub par weed with the top tier not superb.

Classic buy the "rumour, sell the fact" stock price behaviour!

1) For investors that have been riding the wave up and have big profits: Sell half of your position, and keep the other half
2) For new investors: Wait for a good sized pullback to get in

Look behind you.
^^^^^ Two up, you bought too late if this recent loss would effect your profit. I am guessing that only a small few will still be going in the not so distant future, word is spreading that the weight is not there, the price is too high and top tier is not superb.
I dumped my last Aurora at $13.00

Question is, when did you originally bought those shares, and at what cost then?

Our friend Dreamer69 sold WEED stock at $73,50, near the 52-week stock price high of $76.68 on October 16th.
So he should have locked-up a really nice profit! :clap2:

had acb made a deal with coke last month they would have been worth at least @50 a share now

I predict a drop in the short term, but if you can hold out it may rise in the mid to long term. The quick bucks have been made.

In my opinion, marijuana could provide an important source of tax revenue for the government here. The war on drugs is not effective anymore, and it's time to make a change. As for me, I don't take marijuana, apart from my friends' parties.
