Looks like this thread is going to die since the majority here have no team to cheer for....... Do not fear, there is always the GEO to cheer for.
Oilers over Ducks in 6, STL over NSH in 5, NYR over OTT in 6, WSH over PIT in 6...
Next, EDM over STL in 6 and NYR over WSH in 7......... and the final the GEO over NYR in 6.

Let's Go Capss!! Ahhh it's our year !!! Hehe

I predicted the Caps would face Chicago in the Cup final and i was half-wrong. I still believe the Caps will make it. Who will they face? Possibly PK Subban's Nashville Predators. They are a very well balanced team and have a very good goaltender, which is a must if you want to advance in the playoffs.

It seems unfair that the Pens and Caps have to meet in the Eastern semifinals, doesn't it? I don't understand how such highly seeded teams with high point totals should meet prior to the finals. Doesn't seem right or fair. It's like NCAA basketball tournament seeding.

The Current system is based on divisions. The Pens fight the Caps cause they are in the same division, its made to encourage rivalry. I do agree its a shame either Ottawa or New York will make the conference final, as i don't consider either of these 2 teams worthy of it and i think they would had been both eliminated would they had played the Pens/Caps. But i can understand why its decided this way. If it was still the old 1-8 2-7 etc system, MTL would had played somebody else too. New York had more points total. Before only the division champion was secured a spot in the top 3, all the rest was based on pts. So i think MTL would had played the 6th ranked team but it would had been a team the like of Ottawa or Boston. Our division was so weak this year its funny to see some teams made it this high.

In any way i have not looked at the playoffs at all since MTL got out. Based on this im going with a Caps vs Oilers final ... thats what i hope for at least. I like the Pens but they won last year, unless its MTL im not really rooting for a team to win 2 times in a row. (and we all know its hardly ever gonna happen again that MTL win 2 cups in a row lol) I don't want New York in the Stanley Cup Final nor Ottawa(Ottawa don't have the firepower anyway)

As for the west Blues or Oilers would be fine with me, i like the Sharks too but one of those 2 team had to go and it was the Shark. As for Nashville, it would kinda bug me they win the cup to be honest, just cause of the Subban trade, otherwise i wouldn't had mind. Not that i don't like PK but we will look like idiots again (like when we got Gomez and when we traded Roy)

I don't want the Ducks to get the cup either... they got one not that long ago and im very indiferent to this team...

So Oilers vs Caps yes. Caps are due for one, Ovy should get one, he deserve it, and Oilers had so many shit years, its time they get something, plus Mcdavid will win 1 sooner or later, well i hope lol.

I may have to go and check it out for the next game, the Cage in Drummondville is dead for NHL games since the Habs were eliminated. Have to go back to Alberta very soon and will try and see an Oiler game, tickets are probably over my price limit though, many good pubs to watch them in.

We've been getting a glimpse into the future during these terrific playoffs. Teams such as the Oilers, Leafs & Preds will be the teams to watch next year and for the following years.

Let me add that Connor McDavid is a hell of a player!! He's made me a believer in the fact he's probably surpassed Sidney Crosby as the NHL's best player. And to think that the Leafs had a better chance than the Oilers had when they won the lottery two years ago. But then again, the Leafs wouldn't have wound up drafting both Marner & Mathews had they won the McDavid lottery. Look, i'd trade Auston Matthews for Connor McDavid straight up if i were the Leafs GM. That's a no-brainer. But i'm not certain i'd trade both Matthews & Marner for McDavid alone. And lets not forget that McDavid has the luxury of playing with players like Milan Lucic, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jordan Eberle & Leon Draisaitl. Put Matthews alongside those players and he would have wound up with 50 goals and 100 points this season!

But the Oilers owe last night's win to Cam Talbot and Cam Talbot alone. He was fantastic!!! His acquisition from the Rangers now looks like a stroke of brilliance!

But the best move of all for the Oilers was finally getting stability within management. It led to them signing Todd McLellan as the head coach. I've always considered him to be among hockey's top 5 coaches ever since his days with San Jose.

The dumping or Lowe and McTavish was great for the team, along with McLellan Chiarelli was a good grab. The Leafs will be great next year, wish they played the Oilers more, they both play the same style of hockey and would be great to watch.

Just to add, WTF is with Cogeco cable, the west coast games are not playing unless you get the sports package, last night there were no late games showing at all, had to cab to the pub.

Wasn't last night's game being shown on CBC? Or was it on Sportsnet?
