Which is great! How could beating a better seeded player be bad?

It'll be better for everyone when she's permanently out of the spotlight. She had a great start to her career but has pretty much bombed ever since.

Her quotes over the years seem to indicate a questionable attitude. What quotes? Well to reference just two: the one about maybe wanting to date Bieber and the latest one about "the burden of Canada." A big thumbs down on THAT choice of words!

Bad decisions such as coaching changes are just part of the reason for her spectacular fall from a once potentially great position.

Go away Genie. Let Denis be the new Canadian face of tennis...and let's hope his career doesn't nosedive the way yours did.

Joelcairo I do not know you and I am sure you are a good guy. But if I was Eugenie I would be fucking tired of reading stupid comment like this.

Yes she made mistake. I am sure she realize it but surely she also does not need your advice and judgement on her.

Cheers,

Undoubtedly she IS tired of some comments...not because they are "stupid" but because they are accurate, which she now realizes. She "does not need the advice" now because now is too late. Unfortunately Elvis has already left the building and he won't be coming back.

And you should read Gaby's post a few times and understand how gentlemen should react. If you need translation let me know.

Jalimon I kinda doubt that Genie's feelings will be hurt by what I wrote...unless of course you think she regularly reads the posts on MERB.

By the way, last time I checked, free speech was still alive in Canada...even when we're talking about millionaire tennis players who regularly post on Instagram and Twitter.

Hey Genie, if Jalimon is right and you're reading MERB today, sorry! If you're not reading it - which, I agree, would be absolutely astonishing...then I guess you won't see the apology.

Absente au tournoi de Cincinnati....

I think she needs to take some time off and re-evaluate her life. I'm not even sure she should go to the US Open.

The problems began when she fired her lifelong coach Nick Saviano. This happened because of all the hanger-ons in her entourage at the time. She didn't like to be criticized at the time. She didn't realize it was constructive criticism. But she was still a teenager so i'll give her a pass for this. Saviano came back for a short time later but she was already a damaged tennis player by then.

Who knows she may one day get back to the status she once had. Jennifer Capriati and other players did make their own comebacks at one time. Genie Bouchard works very hard in training and trying to make herself better. But i believe that a lot of her problems are between her ears.

She actually played very well in her one & only match at the Rogers Cup. But once again she did herself in with way too many unforced errors.

I have a feeling that she absolutely hates playing tennis right now. She needs to relax, figure out a way to get the pressure off and once again have fun playing tennis. To be happy again.
